We’re celebrating 20 years of service to the Spartanburg community! Join us for our 20th Annual Christmas In Action ReBuild Day planned for Saturday, April 22, 2017! This day bring out hundreds of volunteers to help our fellow neighbor as we work on homes in the City of Spartanburg.

Past repairs have included but are not limited to: wheelchair ramps, toilets, floors, roofs, porches, scraping and painting, and general clean up. We are in special need of skilled electricians and plumbers. Make a difference today by organizing a volunteer team for our ReBuild and make an IMPACT on your fellow neighbors. Hosted by The Barn at Forevermore Farms, this rockin’ evening will feature live music by Back9, dancing, dinner and drinks along with a silent auction. This event will benefit the work that Christmas In Action, a 501c3, preforms to benefit the elderly, disabled and other wise disadvantaged homeowners of Spartanburg County.

On #GivingTuesday, Christmas In Action is excited to announce that all donations made until the end of 2016 will receive a matching donation up to $10,000!

Christmas In Action’s mission of helping those in Spartanburg allows our community to remain safe and independent. The organization’s impact per home is helped through material donations and labor from volunteers. Now is the time to take Christmas In Action’s work to the next level and meet more needs in 2017!

“They may not be next door but they are still our neighbors and this is an excellent way to kick-off our #GivingTuesday event today,” said board chair Bill Michels.

The public is invited to donate at the Christmas In Action website, www.ciaspartanburg.org, in person or through mail as every donation will count towards the matching $10,000 gift.

“Our programs - ReBuild Days, Love Your Neighbor Corporate Program, Alternative Breaks and churches’ Days of Service - enable our organization to complete rehabilitation projects year round,” said Amanda Mathis, executive director.  “We work diligently to remain at the forefront of the housing issues within our county and by renovating our new home in Clifton, S.C.; we can continue to do so because of gifts from supporters like you!”

 Help your neighbors tomorrow on November 29, 2016 with #GIVINGTUESDAY as we support Christmas In Action with #$20FOR20YRS! A yearly event, #GivingTuesday is focused on the global impact of giving socially. With #$20FOR20YRS, Christmas In Action aims to help forward fund a future ReBuild programs planned for 2017.
 
To achieve this goal, the organization is asking for donations that are at least $20 during November 29th to aide our many ReBuild programs that would allow someone to have a new roof, flooring or a wheelchair ramp along with improvements to the Christmas In Action warehouse that stores materials for future projects.
 
“Our various ReBuild programs are a great opportunity for the community to see tangible change with their donor dollars,” said executive director Amanda Mathis. “With over 1,600 individuals living in unsound housing in Spartanburg County, donors can be assured that their dollars will stay local.”

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS OF BIDDING PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUEST FOR THE CHRISTMAS IN ACTION PRIORITY PROGRAM

Christmas In Action announces notice to contractors of the contractor bidding prequalification process for Christmas In Action home rehabilitation projects located within the City of Spartanburg. Projects vary from repairs of roof, plumbing, HVAC r and electrical. A luncheon to explain future program details and to answer additional questions will be held at the Christmas In Action office at 301 Railroad Street, Roebuck, SC 29376 on November 15th at noon. Those to attend will need to reserve their spot at amathis@ciaspartanburg.org Prequalification of all contractors is required in order to bid of future projects and MWSBE companies are highly encouraged. The prequalification process begins on November 15, 2016.

Fall ReBuild 2016

If you are interested in participating in this years Fall ReBuild on Saturday, October 1st please contact our office by emailing levans@ciaspartanburg.org or call our office at 864-576-7101. We are in search for new groups to lead a ReBuild of a house or houses and would love to see the groups are that regular volunteers with Christmas in Action again! This year we are working to repair homes in INMAN. We can't wait to hear from you and your group!

City ReBuild 2016

Coming up June 11th is our second ReBuild day taking place in the City of Spartanburg. We are working with J.W. Woodward Funeral Home to complete a house and hope to get more volunteers to join us.
